This adorable little pug is equal parts playful goofball and cuddle bug. Around 2 years old, Wesley came to us from a Central Valley shelter after being found as a stray, and he’s quickly proven himself to be a happy, loving boy who’s ready for a forever family of his own.
Wesley loves other dogs and gets along great with pups of all sizes. His favorite pastime? Catching the zoomies and racing around the yard playing tag with his dog friends. Once playtime is over, though, he’s all about snuggles and will happily curl up next to his human for a full night of cozy sleep.
Like the true pug he is, Wesley believes personal space is overrated. He’ll be your little shadow throughout the day: under your feet in the kitchen, beside you on the couch, or planted directly in your lap no matter what you’re doing. He does get a little dramatic if you leave the room and may whine for a few minutes, but he settles down quickly once he realizes you’re coming back.
Wesley still has that fun young-dog energy and can occasionally get a little mouthy during play, so his future family will need to continue helping him learn good manners. He’s smart, eager, and extremely food motivated, which makes training much easier. He’s already learned how to use the dog door and is making great progress with potty training, though he’ll still need consistency in his new home.
Meal times are very serious business to Wesley. He’s convinced all food belongs to him and will absolutely attempt to sample another dog’s dinner if given the opportunity. Typical pug behavior!
Wesley has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm tested. His dream home would be one where he gets to go on adventures, spend plenty of time with his people, and have other playful dogs around to romp with.
