I've found my furever family!

Hi! My Name Is Sage

We're happy to tell you that Sage has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.

Sage is a one-year-old pug who is not your typical ball of nonstop puppy energy. She enjoys playtime and gets excited here and there, but she has a nice balance and is not over the top. She walks well on leash and had no issues with collars or harnesses after her very first day in foster care.

Mealtime is a breeze with Sage. She is not food aggressive, but she will stand up for her bowl or a high-value treat if another dog gets too close. She eats well, though she can be picky with treats.

Sage has a quirky side too! She loves a seat with a view and often chooses chairs or anything elevated. She can jump higher than you’d expect for her little body, and occasionally needs a reminder that tables are not lounge spots.

At night, she prefers sleeping with her people or other dogs, though she will tolerate some crate time during the day. She likes toys and chews, bathes easily, and already knows how to sit. She is pretty much potty trained if given regular outdoor breaks or dog door access. She likes a buddy for bathroom trips, so continued positive reinforcement will be helpful.

Sage is loyal and a little clingy in the sweetest way. She wants to be near her people and often checks on you, even during shower time. She enjoys the company of other dogs and is starting to play more with them, though her focus is really on people. She can be a little possessive of her humans around new dogs, but she takes redirection well.

She should do well with kids and people of all ages. She’s still a little mouthy in play, but nothing excessive. Sage is the perfect mix of sweet, smart, and spunky. Whoever adopts her is going to be very lucky.

She'll be spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped in a few days and ready to go home this weekend. We pulled her from Oakland Animal Services after she was surrendered, having been passed from family to family. Now she is ready for stability, love, and her true forever home.
