Otis came to us as a stray from a Central Valley shelter. We estimate he’s about 4 years old, with a gorgeous apricot coat and a petite little frame under 15 pounds.
Otis is friendly with everyone he meets and gets along beautifully with other dogs. He responds well to training and gentle correction and is eager to please.
He’s a funny, curious guy. When he discovered the dog door, he decided it was the best new game and happily bounced through it again and again. He loves hanging out with his foster siblings, testing out every dog bed in the house, and staying close, usually with at least one paw touching you. He enjoys exploring the backyard, going on walks, and chewing his favorite toys.
He’s crate trained and currently working on his marking, which should improve after his neuter. Otis is such a sweet, happy little companion and will make a wonderful addition to the right home. He has an old injury to one of his eyes, and during his neuter we learned that he has stage 2 tracheal collapse. We'll be taking him back to the vet for a soft palate trim and sacuole removal on March 23. We don't feel comfortable with him flying after this procedure, so local adopters (or those who can drive) are only being considered.
