This giant teddy bear (hence the name) is a total sweetheart with a total pug personality. He’s 1.5 years old, active, playful, silly, and goofy. He’s crate trained, doing great with potty training, and is wonderful with kids. He loves to play with toys!
Oso was surrendered after getting into fights with his littermate and father. This is to be expected, with several unfixed and/or related dogs. Getting him out of that situation and neutered was a priority, and he adjusted well to the change. However, he still shows a dominant personality toward other males, so we will only consider homes without other dogs or just females. We are guessing he’s not going to be good with cats as well.
Oso is a confident guy, but there’s one major thing he needs to do in order to feel even better: lose a significant amount of weight. He came to us at 28.5 pounds and is now at 25 pounds at the end of September. At his current size, he’s showing signs of a collapsing trachea, which is affecting his breathing. We took care of his soft palate surgery to help prevent further airway damage.
Most of all, Oso needs an adopter committed to helping him get healthy and become the happiest, healthiest version of himself. This big teddy bear has a lot of love and life ahead of him!
