Chance is a sweet, affectionate, and playful pug who loves being wherever his people are.
At about 1.5 years old, Chance enjoys bursts of zoomies, playing with other dogs, and bringing toys over to his foster sister so they can chew on them together. He's still figuring out some canine social cues, personal space, and boundaries, so he'd do best with a patient, confident dog companion who can help show him the ropes.
He's a little shy at first, but once he gets comfortable with his surroundings, he becomes quite the cuddlebug, following you around the house, climbing into your lap, and snuggling up beside you at bedtime. He's happy to be part of whatever you're doing throughout the day.
Chance is great with kids, too. He's naturally curious about them and very relaxed with different kinds of handling. He has shown no signs of aggression or resource guarding around food or toys.
He's a big fan of walks and loves taking his time to sniff around the neighborhood and explore. He's learning the dog door and is doing really well with potty training! He's very food motivated and attentive, which makes him a willing and eager student.
Chance is looking for an active home that will include him in daily adventures, give him plenty of opportunities to play and explore, and help him continue growing in confidence. We know that once he's truly settled in a forever home, his energy level will rise.
Chance came into our rescue as an owner surrender when his family was no longer able to provide the time and care he needed. He's neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, and currently being fostered in Oakland, CA.
