Bambi is little bundle of energy (like all black female pugs), always ready for a game of chase or tug-of-war. Her coat is as black as midnight, with a beautiful shine that makes her stand out. She’s had a couple of skin patches, but after a recent trip to the vet, she's on the mend and feeling much better. She rubbed her back raw due to stress.
When you meet her, don't be surprised if she seems a bit shy at first. She might hang back and observe you with her big, curious eyes, but give her a moment, and she'll quickly melt into a cuddly, affectionate companion. Once she decides you're her person, she'll become your tiny shadow, following you from room to room just to be close. She'd love nothing more than to curl up beside you on the couch, happy to just be near you. She's not just looking for a home; she's looking for a best friend to share all her adventures with.
She came to our rescue thanks to a kindhearted good Samaritan who saved her from a life outdoors. She grew up around children and is very comfortable with them. She has a small grade 1–2 heart murmur, but X-rays showed her heart size is normal. She shows no signs of any issues and most likely was born with it. Bambi is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped.
She's doing great with her potty training and gets along great with other dogs. Bambi is still adjusting to life indoors, so she has a few quirks that require a patient and understanding adopter. Like most dogs in rescue, she will have a transition period after so much change in her life. We're looking for the perfect home who will appreciate who she is now and will work with her to blossom into her best self.
