Meet Astro!
Astro is a sweet, mild-mannered pug who came to us after being found as a stray and taken to the shelter. While there, he was unfortunately attacked by another dog, but he made a smooth recovery. He also most likely has a flea allergy, so his coat shows some remnants of that right now. With soothing baths and preventative meds, his skin and coat will be glowing in no time.
Despite his rough start, Astro’s personality shines through. He's gentle and very food-motivated, which makes training easy. He’s pretty much potty trained now! He's great on a leash and loves his toys.
At home, he sleeps peacefully in a playpen with two small dogs—no whining, barking, or even snoring! He gets along with all kinds of dogs, from bossy to playful, and is respectful around cats, giving them a sniff and then moving on. He can be a little mouthy when excited to greet you, but it’s gentle and playful.
Astro has some funny quirks, like counter-surfing and even climbing onto the dining table, so his forever family should be ready for a little mischief mixed with a lot of love. He adores blackberries and is always down to hang out, whether it’s Netflix binge time or an outdoor adventure.
Astro may flinch at quick movements over his head, but with kindness and patience, he’ll continue to build confidence. He’s an adaptable, affectionate pug who’s been through a lot and is ready to find a forever family that will shower him with love and care.
