Shiloh is ready for her forever home!
We introduced you to this one-of-a-kind pug mix last month after she came to us as an owner surrender when her family was preparing to welcome a second baby. Since then, we’ve learned more about what makes Shiloh so unique, and now she’s ready to find a family who will love her exactly as she is. She’s six years old.
Shiloh has Short Spine Syndrome, a rare genetic condition that affects how the vertebrae develop. Her spine is shortened and curved, and her rib cage is compressed, giving her back a distinctive shape. The good news is that it doesn’t slow her down, and she isn’t experiencing pain. Surgery isn’t recommended, but she will need ongoing monitoring and careful weight management to avoid putting unnecessary stress on her back and internal organs.
At under 10 pounds, Shiloh is a petite little personality with plenty of quirks. She’s food and treat motivated, loves playing fetch, and will happily chase her own shadow or the dancing sunlight across the floor. Vacuums, however, are absolutely not her thing. She can be protective of her prized possessions, but she isn’t aggressive. Her favorite place is your lap and quickly attaches herself to new people.
Shiloh is fully potty trained and loves her walks. She’s currently enjoying the forests and beaches of Carmel, and we’d love to find her a home where she can continue exploring the outdoors and enjoying life at her own pace.
She could do well with other small dogs, but she’d also be perfectly happy being the star of the show. After everything, Shiloh deserves a home where she can be cherished for the special little dog she is.
We believe Shiloh is a Chihuahua-Pug mix, often called a Chug. She is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped, and she’s currently being fostered in Carmel, California.
