Bruno came to us from our local shelter after being hit by a car, and we’re so grateful for shelter partners who reach out and give us the opportunity to help dogs like him right from the start.
He arrived with a broken pelvis and hip, but in true pug fashion, he was still determined to walk and wag his tail despite the pain. His pelvis will heal on its own, but his hip required a Femoral Head Osteotomy at UC Davis on August 20. His recovery requires ramps or stairs and no jumping off furniture, and luckily, he picked up the routine quickly in his foster home. He’s recovering beautifully and now just needs time, rest, and plenty of love.
Bruno is approximately 3.5 years old and weighs just 16 pounds. We suspect he’s a Beagle or Chihuahua mix, with short little legs and the sweetest personality. He’s fully potty trained to a dog door, gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes, and absolutely loves people. His favorite place is curled up on a bed with his favorite human or another dog.
He’s playful but also has a nice chill side, making him a wonderful age and temperament for someone looking for a fun companion who also loves to cuddle.
Bruno is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and does not need any additional surgical follow-up. He is currently being fostered in Antioch and would love to meet you!
