Meet Gunnar!
Gunnar is an approximately 4-year-old male pug with a heart as big as his adorable smile. He's an affectionate, easygoing boy who loves everyone he meets and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. He's even cat-friendly and is happy to coexist without bothering them.
This handsome guy is always ready for an adventure. Whether it's a road trip, a neighborhood walk, or tagging along on errands, Gunnar is happiest by your side. He walks nicely on leash, with just a little curiosity that settles as the walk goes on, and at the end of the day he's perfectly content to curl up at the foot of the bed. He's also making great progress with his house manners, using the doggie door for potty breaks.
Gunnar came to us as a stray from Contra Costa Animal Services. When he arrived, it was clear he was struggling to breathe comfortably, likely due to severe brachycephalic airway syndrome. He recently underwent surgery to shorten his elongated soft palate, along with a dental cleaning, and he's already breathing much more comfortably and enjoying life even more.
Gunnar is looking for an active home where he can be included in everyday adventures and then settle in for plenty of snuggles. He's neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.
