Meet Rupert!
This happy 3 year old pug is ready to find his forever home.
Rupert came to us from the Sacramento SPCA after they reached out for rescue support. He had been surrendered when his previous owners could no longer afford his medical care. From the start, he showed himself to be a sweet, social, and easygoing guy, which has helped us get a good sense of his personality.
He’s friendly, playful, and a little excitable. He does well with other dogs and is generally neutral, though he’s definitely picked a favorite foster brother and sticks by his side. Like many dogs coming from a less structured environment, Rupert will benefit from some continued training and guidance around boundaries. He was only recently neutered, so he’s still adjusting and learning new habits.
Rupert is currently being fostered with other pugs and would thrive in a home where he gets plenty of attention and activity. He enjoys running around with his foster brothers at the park and has a fun, energetic side. He could do well with another dog or as an only dog, as long as he has a good amount of daily exercise and enrichment. He's not too interested in toys at the moment, but we're sure once he's more settled in a home he will begin to feel more comfortable to explore other entertainment options.
Rupert is being fostered in Sacramento, CA, and is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.
