So many of you fell in love with her when we first shared her story a week ago, and now this sweet and resilient girl is almost ready for her forever home. She’s scheduled to be spayed next week and will be available shortly after.
Blanche is under a year old and still learning the ropes. She isn’t leash or crate trained yet, but she’s making great progress with potty training: about 8 out of 10 times she goes outside. At first, she was too scared to potty outdoors without a person standing nearby, but now she’ll follow her foster’s puppy outside and go on her own, which is a huge accomplishment!
She’s still fearful of loud noises and nervous about collars and leashes, but her foster family is slowly and gently introducing these things. Despite her rough start, Blanche is incredibly loving and adores cuddles and kisses.
She’s great with kids (her foster has a teenager, but she’d likely do well with younger children too), gets along with cats, and loves playing with other dogs. She’s especially fond of her foster’s puppy, while also being gentle and respectful with their 15-year-old senior pup.
This week, Blanche even mastered going up and down stairs on her own! She enjoys chew bones, playing fetch, and diving into her basket of toys.
Because of her sensitive temperament, we’re looking for a patient and understanding home who is committed to continuing her growth. We’re unsure of how she’d do on a plane or a road trip, so please be aware that we might prioritize more local adopters.
